In Brief

The Mango Tree Girls School is a new model of school with a national outlook and international standards in the whole of Nyanza region and Homa Bay County.

It is a girls’ only boarding school of high achievers and self-motivated girls who scored 350-500 marks in Kenya Certificate of Primary Education.

The campus has inspiring scenic views over Lake Victoria with "state of the art" boarding houses (instead of dormitories) and a multipurpose hall.

Why A Girls School ?

Despite considerable efforts to promote and improve girls’ education, the number of girls who transit into tertiary education in Kenya remains low, more so for OVC girls.
It is widely recognized that an educated girl will marry late, she will have less children who are likely to obtain a better start in life.

Higher incidences of pregnancies and drop outs in day secondary schools- affecting thirteen to seventeen year olds- mainly caused by absence of parental care, lack of basic needs, the challenges of adolescence and the lure of men in the boda boda industry, domestic work and those who work away from their families has hampered efforts to close the gap.

The school provides a new approach to students’ boarding life by giving an holistic approach to the care of adolescent girls thus eliminating all forms of abuse including Sexual Gender Based Violence.

We seek to respond to this gap by prioritizing boarding school for girls.
